Mental Health

Mental health is an extremely prevalent topic in the world of today. People are discussing their mental health much more and there are more support systems in place for people who are struggling. With that said there is still more work to be done.

Mental health difficulties can present themselves in a variety of different ways including:

  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • OCD
  • Panic/fear
  • Low mood
  • Sadness
  • Anger
  • Grief
  • Loneliness

My experience of mental health

I have to be honest, I have lived with mental health problems for the majority of my life in the form of anxiety. I have juggled anxiety in many forms from generalised anxiety disorder to social anxiety.

With my various health conditions I have also suffered with low mood in the past normally surrounding my worries for the future.

I also live with OCD which tends to go hand in hand with my Tourette Syndrome. My OCD like my tics have evolved over the years from over checking objects to germ worries.

Over the years I have accessed mental health services and attended support groups alongside 1-1 counselling which I have found helpful in understanding how my own mental health works.
